FIORE

A collaboration between Brooke Holm and Light & Ladder, Fiore is a short film representing formed connections between humans and objects through the oscillating rhythm of auditory and visual sequences.

Synthesized sounds dance distortedly, fading in and out. Sounds are played instinctively, improvised in the moment to form a meditative tempo. Creating music in this way means that formations are often unable to be repeated. The objects, conceived through the custodial rigor of their maker, are accomplices, traversing slowly through a tension in the soundscape. While many things are made to be fleeting or disposable, these objects are created with a sensitivity that transcends time, with forms reminiscent of futures past. Beyond the material is an invitation to connect with the natural world. As objects become vessels for flora, taking place in a world that pays homage to Nature; we are reminded of cycles, rebirth, the blossoming of life, and the permanence of intention echoing through time. Fiore is Italian for bloom, a term found in botany, music and within language. Defining growth, rebirth and transformation.
